Why small businesses matter
Buy small, do big things for your community
Why Small Businesses Matter shines a light on local business owners who volunteer their time, talent, goods and services for the benefit of our community. The shop local movement is spreading virally as local businesses that are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!
You are IT songs for the seeds!
Four questions for Courtney Karasin, founder of Songs for Seeds.
Why did you start your business?
Bringing joy and new experiences to toddlers through music and a sense of connection and fun between caregiver and child
What is your best-selling product/service?
Our songs for private seed garden pod classes!
How many local businesses do you use to support your business (products and services) and can you name them?
In addition to our private garden modules, we also run classes at YWCA Greenwich and the First Congregational Church of Darien. They are two amazing organizations that we enjoy working with! We also used to work with Action Arts in Old Greenwich – an absolutely wonderful place.
Have you redesigned your small business?
We used to only run classes at our YWCA/FCC location, then due to the pandemic, we switched to outdoor private classes as a way to resume and it was such a hit!
