Say what you will about recent offerings from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but at least they’ve been fun to listen to. Case in point? 2017 Thor: Ragnarokwhich basically used Led Zeppelin’s “Immigrant Song” as the theme track.
Now, we’re just weeks away from director Taika Waititi’s sequel to Ragnarok, Thor: Love and Thunder. Of course, we’re on the hunt for more soundtrack bits after the film’s debut trailer delightfully jazzed up “Sweet Child o’ Mine.” Luckily, Christian Bale, who plays villainous Gorr the Butcher God in love and thunder, teases the merchandise. In an interview with Total movie, Bale made a hilarious comment of the moment about what a certain artist looks like who missed the final edit. “There’s obviously kind of a light-hearted attitude from Nosferatu,” Bale said of Gorr. “Taika and I wanted to do a whole dance, which we couldn’t do, but we had all this Kate Bush stuff we were working on. . But I think he just realized he didn’t would never be allowed to put that in the final movie.
Does Bale suggest that love and thunder almost feature full choreography to a Kate Bush track like “Cloudbusting,” “Babooshka,” or, damn it, “Running Up That Hill?” You have to ask yourself if stranger things Bringing “Running Up That Hill” back into fashion discouraged Waititi and co. to stage another such moment. (Our feelings? There’s not too much Kate Bush.) Either way, we’re still thrilled that the love and thunder the cooking crew. Let’s hold out some hope that Bale gets the song and dance treatment, anyway.
