BRISTOL – Memorial Day activities in Bristol this weekend are expected to result in road closures on Sunday and Monday.
The Forestville Memorial Day Parade will take place on Sunday, with a rain date on Monday, while the Bristol Memorial Day Procession is scheduled for Monday.
The Forestville Parade is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. and last until approximately 3:30 p.m. However, road closures that will accompany the parade are expected to take effect around noon and last until shortly after the parade ends.
Roads that will be closed will include East Main Street, from Lincoln Avenue to Central Street; Church Avenue; Washington Street, from Stafford Avenue to Camp Street; Central Street, from Route 72 to Washington Street; rue de l’Académie; Circle Street; Garden Street, from Academy Street to Washington Street; and Broad Street, from Todd Street to Central Street.
Then on Monday, the Bristol Memorial Day procession is scheduled to start at 10 a.m. and end around 11 a.m. Road closures accompanying the procession will take effect around 9:30 a.m. and will reopen shortly after the procession ends.
Roads that will be closed during the procession include North Main Street, from Hope Street to School Street; School Street, from North Main Street to Memorial Boulevard; Main Street, from Riverside Avenue to School Street; and Riverside Avenue, from North Main Street to Main Street.
Police also reminded residents that Memorial Boulevard will close around 7 p.m. Friday and will remain closed through the holiday weekend.
