SALT LAKE CITY — The Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra in Temple Square of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints welcomed thousands of guests for an in-person performance Friday for the first time in two years.
Their annual summer concert was held on July 15 at the Temple Square Conference Center.
“It feels so good to finally be able to share our music live with an audience after the pandemic,” said Michael O. Leavitt, president of the choir. “The choir and orchestra members have been looking forward to the summer concert for many weeks to inspire, uplift and bless the world through their faith-filled music.”

The group was joined by guest artist and baritone Shea Owens, director of opera at Brigham Young University.
“The concert’s music and message (entitled ‘Love Your Neighbor: A Tabernacle Choir Special Event’) will emphasize the Savior’s Second Commandment: ‘Love Your Neighbor.’ We hope to help those who watch and listen to feel closer to God, experience his love, and feel inspired to share that love with others,” Leavitt said.
