ROME- Registration for new participants in winter swimming lessons will take place on Wednesday, November 23 from 5:45 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, November 26 from 10 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at the Rome Family YMCA, 301 W. Bloomfield St.
Classes will be held at the Rome branch.
All children must be tested, unless they are considered Level 1 beginners or are 3 years old or younger. Children must be dressed in swimwear for registration and skill level testing. Classes are on a first-come, first-served basis due to class size limits and the number of instructors available.
Parents can choose their child’s class time and days at the time of registration.
The session lasts eight weeks with a built-in week for make-up classes due to weather-related cancellation or an event beyond the Y’s control.
Classes will take place on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays starting November 28 and ending January 11. Saturday classes falling on December 24 and January 31 will be cancelled. Therefore, Saturday classes are to run until January 28.
The cost for members is $30 per participant and $95 for non-members. Payment must be made upon registration.
