Movieguide® previously reported on Daigle’s hugely successful musical career:
Lauren Daigle’s “Look Up Child” album reached 100 weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Christian Albums chart, marking another milestone in the Grammy-winning artist’s career.
In 2018, “Look Up Child” became Daigle’s third full-length album and holds the record for most weeks at No. 1 since the chart’s inception in 1980.
“It’s incredible for me, it really blows my mind”, Daigle Told Billboard. “I would say I had wished it would be successful, but seeing how effective it has become has been truly magnificent. The best part of it is seeing how people have used the album and how it has accompanied them to through a really tough time or a great season. That’s the best part of that kind of accomplishment.
“What’s so special about music is that it can really be timeless. Throughout the process of recording ‘Look Up Child’, I remember saying that I just wanted it to be a work timeless. I want it to be something that even 20 or 30 years from now people can still hear and listen to,” she added. “I think that’s the beauty of music as a whole. can impact you in a certain way during a certain season or period of time, and then it can mean something completely different in subsequent seasons or years.
Daigle also said that her album persisted because of its themes of hope and home.
“I think that’s what this record does for people. It brings them to a home they remembered in 2018, reflecting on good memories and good times. They find a sense of place in the lyrics and in the feeling of the record,” she said. “I feel like when tragedy strikes or when chaos strikes, it’s a beautiful thing to come home and remember that there’s still some good out there, and I think that’s what people do with this record.”
“To see these maps and see the things that came from the [commercial] the success of this record is really beautiful because it means people keep it or find it for the first time,” she continued.
