Hereson meeting
A reunion for Class 1B1 who attended Hereson School in 1954 will be held next April following a call from former student Sid Anning.
All the classmates will be turning 80 next year and to celebrate this Sid has organized the class reunion which will take place at the Racing Greyhound pub in Hereson Road from 1-3.30pm on April 1 next year.
Sid made an appeal in The Isle of Thanet News earlier this year to reunite with his former classmates.
He said: “I was lucky to find a few more, but I would like to get as many as possible if possible.
“Once I have a name I can go to Ancestry (UK) and found a few that way, but I would like a lot more. Sadly some have died.

Choir of Ladies Serenaders
After a very successful summer concert in July, the Serenaders Ladies’ Choir are, as the saying goes, ‘back in business’.
Our charity concert held in July was very well supported and we are delighted to have raised £814 which the charity Cheerful Sparrows Thanet were delighted to receive.
Over the next few weeks, the choir will organize several events. In September we have been invited to sing at a local care home and other events leading up to Christmas, when of course our annual Christmas carol concert will take place at St Philips Church in Palm Bay on Saturday December 17 at 2:30 p.m.
Ladies, if you can sing and fancy being part of a friendly team who have raised thousands of pounds for charity, having fun while doing it, please contact our Music Director Janice Regan on 01843 224027 or our publicity manager Chris Buffrey on 07711938373 email: chris.buffrey@btinternet.com All you need is a love of music and an ability to sing in tune.
Don’t hesitate to come to one of our rehearsals. We meet on a Monday evening at 7:30 p.m. at St. Philips Church in Palm Bay.
