
Essential functions
As an integral member of the worship team, work collaboratively with pastoral staff to plan and oversee worship service music, including weddings, funerals, and special services. We have traditional worship every Sunday at 9am out of season (April-October), 10am in season (November-April)
Choose music appropriate to the scriptures, the liturgical calendar and the tone of worship; advise pastoral staff on the selection of appropriate hymns
Plan, accompany and direct rehearsals and performances of the Chœur du Chancel, as well as recruit members.
Encourage congregational singing.
Notify the rector of the required maintenance of the organ, pianos
Oversee music-related expenses and ensure budget compliance.
Position and benefits
This is a shift of planning a weekly choir rehearsal, performing and conducting the choir for Sunday service. The choir/organist reports directly to the pastor and should work in cooperation with other pastoral staff.
Planning and organization of 2 concerts by local musicians in the months of January to March.
The position is eligible for 2 weeks of paid vacation.

Skills and Qualifications
Music degree or equivalent experience preferred
The right candidate will be familiar with the relevant repertoire and liturgies of the Episcopal Church, have the skills to perform the essential functions of the position, and will continue to work to hone their craft and ability to bring out the best in other musicians, showing the love of Christ to all
