
BENIN CITY – Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki on Monday led other senior government officials to a special nine-lesson Christmas carol for students at various schools across the state, featuring a burden for the students to show their love to one another.
The Christmas Carol in its first edition featured special performances by various music, dance and choreography groups.
Other senior government officials present at the event included Secretary of State Government Osarodion Ogie Esq .; chief of staff to the governor, Osaigbovo Iyoha; Edo State Chief Justice Joe Acha; Local Government Commissioner Monday Osaigbovo and Edo State People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman Dr Anthony Aziegbemi, among others.
The event, organized by the Edo State Ministry of Education, was held at Imaguero College in Benin City.
Obaseki, who noted that the season is characterized by love and the exchange of gifts, urged children to show love for each other as they celebrate Christmas.
In his opening speech, Edo College student Osayomore Osayuki thanked the state government led by Obaseki for the love he continued to show the children of Edo.
Fri. Moses Onowhuke, in his teaching titled “Make a Joyful Noise,” said “Christmas is a time for sharing love and happiness, as well as adding value to people’s lives. I urge leaders across the country never to use their positions to oppress the people. “
