After Miranda Lambert completes her “Bandwagon Tour” with her Little Big Town friends, she immediately hits the road, this time pulling her Airstream motorhome with friends for a 20-day getaway. She and her husband Brendan will be joined by her friend and stand-in Gwen Sebastian and her husband, who also own an RV, to see what they can see.
Miranda said People about going July to see the sights of America, “Everyone says, ‘So you’re gonna get off the bus and straight into an RV. But, it’s such a different way of seeing the world. It’s through a windshield, but it’s with the freedom rather than pulling into a parking lot where I wait all day, play a show, then roll into the next town.
She adds, “It’s like a way of actually seeing things. I always say I’ve been everywhere and haven’t seen anything, which is part of what I do. Gwen always says, ‘What we do is a tough lifestyle. So while all of our knees and elbows are working, we’re going to do some fun stuff.
Lambert also did a lot of camping with her trailer during the pandemic, where she also learned that you could write sad songs and still be pretty happy. She said: “Any type of artist will live in darkness because they use it for the arts. But at some point, I can actually be happy and function and do life and walk into a writing room and go somewhere else in my mind or my heart.
