
Friday, November 11 is Veterans Day! Today is the day to honor all our veterans! Here is a list of free activities in Hancock and Washington County.
Acadia National Park – There is NO admission to the park on Veterans Day, November 11.
Cherryfield – St. Michael’s Church located at 51 Elm Street in Cherryfield offers a spaghetti dinner with meatballs and sausage, bread and assorted desserts. Dinner is served from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Veteran meals are free, all others are $5.00 each. The event will be limited to 100 people, so come early!
Ellsworth – The Great Hosts a Veterans Day Tribute! Join the Danny Harper Band and the VFW Post 109 Color Guard to honor our veterans and active military. This event starts at 7 p.m.
Ellsworth – The Elks Lodge #2743 at 317 High Street is offering a FREE day of meals to veterans. They serve breakfast from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., lunch of burgers, hot dogs, and fries from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., then spaghetti dinner for dinner from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Jonesboro – The Jonesboro Barn #357 located at 746 US Route 1 hosts their 2nd Annual Veterans Day Luncheon and Flag Waving. There is a free lunch for all veterans and one guest of their choice. Flag waved at 11 a.m. Lunch at 11:30 a.m. Please RSVP by emailing jonesborogrange357@gmail.com
Lubec – The Stuart-Green American Legion Post #65 offers a traditional turkey dinner with all the trimmings and desserts at 2 p.m. The position is located at 498 county road in Lubec
Sullivan – Honeybee Cafe located at 2336 US Route 1 will offer free coffee all day to veterans.
