The AWARD WINNER Farnham Youth Choir wants to ensure that no child should be prevented by financial circumstances from participating in the fantastic musical training and performance opportunities it offers.
To do this, the choir is launching a scholarship program to coincide with the Big Give Christmas campaign and they need your help.
Farnham Youth Choir President Helen Cole said: “We want to remove the potential barrier to affordability for children who would like to sing in an award-winning choir like FYC.
“The finances of families whose children are already singing with us have been affected by the pandemic: the number of penalties to be paid for extracurricular activities is expected to increase.
“By supporting the choir through the Big Give Christmas Challenge, you can ensure that our scholarship program gets off to a good start, which will benefit the local community in many ways. “
The Farnham Youth Choir not only provides local youth with incredible local opportunities, but they also have the opportunity to perform overseas, record CDs and even perform as part of the X Factor live finals at Wembley. Arena in 2018.
The choir also teaches its members many transferable skills that benefit the community and young people long after they graduate from the choir.
The Big Give runs from Tuesday, November 30 at noon to Tuesday, December 7 at noon and allows charities to double the donations made at that time with matching funding.
Donations to the Farnham Youth Choir scholarship program will be generously matched by the Lake House Charitable Foundation and other key supporter during the campaign, meaning one donation has twice the impact!
If you would like to support the Youth Choir, go to https://www.fyc.org.uk/the-big-give to donate or sign up for a reminder.
