LOCK HAVEN – The magic of Christmas is coming to downtown Lock Haven.
Downtown Lock Haven, Inc., its board of directors, committee members and director, Kira Rosamilia, have been busy preparing tomorrow’s launch event at Small Business Saturdays – Haven Hollywood Holidays.
“Triple H” as DLH invented it, will be a full day event, ending with the annual Christmas Parade and Christmas tree lighting.
Locals and visitors alike will have the chance to immerse themselves in the Christmas spirit long before the first float rolls down Main Street.
Haven Hollywood Holidays will begin at 8 a.m. with DLH offering a limited number of “Shop Lock Haven Local” canvas bags. Buyers can use these bags to store the goodies and gifts that they buy from shops in the area. And some participating businesses will also be offering pins that you can place on your bags, Rosamilia said.

Shops will open shortly after at 9 a.m. In just over a year, nearly a dozen new local businesses opened and began to locate in downtown Lock Haven. From clothes, candy, baked goods, gift items, jewelry and more, there is something for everyone to tick off their list this holiday season.
And children can also come and enjoy the activities at Triangle Park.
Rich Schlesinger will play the acoustic guitar at the park from 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. where a family event will be held. Kids can get a mug of hot chocolate, candy cane, and craft, all sponsored by Berkshire Hathaway and Tri-County Church North Central.
Also take a look at the windows downtown. Businesses in the area enter a window decoration contest, and it’s up to the buyers to decide which one is better. Each window follows the Haven Hollywood Holidays theme and is reflected in a classic or New Age Christmas movie.
Those who stay until 6 p.m. for the parade will also have the chance to vote for their favorite float. Rosamilia said businesses and organizations will also follow the Hollywood theme, with floats based on Christmas movies.
To vote for your favorite window or float, visit www.lockhaven.org/haven-holidays/ to find out more.
After the parade, families can either head to Triangle Park for the annual tree lighting, stop at the East Main Street parking lot to admire the twinkling lights and holiday explosions scattered around the space, or visit Sarah’s Alley in next to Stella A’s for a surprise.
And the fun won’t stop after tomorrow night. Small Business Saturdays will continue through December 18 and feature a variety of great deals, fun activities and lots of holiday spirit.
Rosamilia noted that many of the awards presented at upcoming events have all been generously donated by DLH Board members.
