Multi-Arts Camp is a specialty camp held at the Owen Theater. Students aged 7 to 12 spend a week learning the music, art and basics of acting. The camp ends with a student performance on Friday afternoon. The cost is $120 for Conroe residents and $150 for non-residents per session. Let’s be Artsy! This session will introduce clay making for beginners. Working with clay and hand building techniques (no wheel throwing) on Mondays or beginner ceramic painting on Tuesdays. Art classes are offered in the Activity Center Art Room, across from the CK Ray Recreation Center. This session lasts 3 weeks on Mondays or Tuesdays from June 6 to June 21. The cost is $50 for Conroe residents and $63 for non-residents for a one-hour class. All supplies are included. Are you going to summer school this summer? That doesn’t mean you have to miss Camp Fun Quest. There will be plenty to do after school is over, so join the adventure! The program will operate at Sam Houston and Milam Elementary from June 8 through July 1. CISD will provide transportation from Rice and Geisinger to Sam Houston and from Grangerland Intermediate to Milam. The program is designed for children in grades one through six (Fall 2022). SQUIID Squad

The SQUIID squad is back! SQUIID stands for Super Qualified Ultra Instructors In Development. This program is for young people aged 12 to 15 who like to swim and would like to gain experience by teaching others to swim. SQUIID Squad members will work with our Water Safety Instructors to teach American Red Cross swim lessons. Interested teenagers will have an interview/orientation with a squad leader. Sign up for adult softball now with the City of Conroe Parks and Recreation Department! Softball leagues available include Sunday Mixed D League, Tuesday Men’s Church D League, Thursday Men’s D League and Friday Men’s D League. League schedules consist of a seven-week season, two games per night, fourteen games in total. Games are played at our Carl Barton, Jr. Park Softball Complex. The cost per team is $425. The Conroe Senior Center provides camaraderie and fun through a variety of activities for active adults 55 and older. Bingo, cards and dominoes, painting, crafts, films, holiday celebrations, guest speakers and other special activities are part of each week. Connect with friends, socialize and stay connected to the community. The center is open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and lunch is served daily. Join the fun at senior dances. Couples and singles are welcome at these weekly dances featuring bands ranging from Country & Western to Golden Oldies. Line dances and mixers involve everyone. Dances are held on Friday nights at the City of Conroe Activity Center, 1204 Candy Cane Lane. The cost is $5 per person at the door. CPR/AED/First Aid training is available upon request at the Conroe Aquatic Center. Training is delivered in a ‘blended learning’ format, with most of the training conducted online. Certification by the American Red Cross is obtained after a verification of the required skills. The cost of training is $50 for residents and $62 for non-residents.
