A Cheshire choir raised more than £2,500 for Chester’s leading homeless charity, Chester Aid to the Homeless (CATH), at their latest gig.
The Decibellas, a choir for upper voices based in Tarporley, have raised £2,554 for CATH through the sale of tickets for their concert at St Boniface’s Church in Banbury as well as a collection of buckets.
Robert Whittall, CEO of CATH, said: “Chester Aid to the Homeless provides support, encouragement and a safety net for people in crisis. Our services include a drop-in centre, medical services and supported housing for the city’s homeless.
“Donations and community fundraising are a vital part of our income which helps us to provide the level and range of services we offer, so we are very grateful for the incredible generosity and support of the choir. Decibellas and concert audiences”.
CATH was founded by a team of volunteers in 1972 to help and support Chester’s homeless community. It is the main homeless charity in Chester, Cheshire, providing a wide range of services to people in need.
