A COMMUNITY choir was busy on weekends after completing a festive performance marathon.
The Big Sing Choir traveled through central Essex to perform six different sets to buyers on Saturday.
Allison Gray, owner of Willow & Fox in Maldon High Street, invited The Big Sing to bring festive joy to her Christmas shoppers.
She said: “They certainly did just that. Wonderful, talented singers with amazing vocals, setting a Christmas mood for everyone to enjoy.
“Thank you very much and to All Saints Church for helping Power.”
Back by popular demand, the choir also performed for Morrisons customers in Maldon.
Kathy Vale, Community Champion at Morrisons, said: “It was amazing to see and hear them all again. It brought Christmas cheer. The Morrisons customers and staff loved it.”
They then moved on to entertaining the crowds in Witham, where the Big Sing was founded 10 years ago.

They first performed at Morrisons, followed by Holts of Witham, then they played another set near the Christmas tree before the lights came on.
Their final performance entertained attendees at the Glow event at RHS Hyde Hall.
Gemma Francis, Director of The Big Sing, said: “Wow, what a fantastic day of community singing. After being limited to singing in public for so long, it was great to come back with the community and cheer them up with it. some festive songs.
“Our choirs missed this so much. The Big Sing wishes everyone a safe and happy Christmas.”

Sandra Cole, Charity Manager of The Big Sing Soul, said: “Thank you to the audience for their generous donations which will allow us to bring Christmas cheer to nursing home residents with a specially created video of our performances for free.”
Gemma is urging more people to join the choir in 2022.
It’s a community choir so anyone can join, no audition is needed and the first rehearsal is free.
