
The Monroe County Public Library offers local residents the chance to read, learn, connect and create. The Downtown Library is located at 303 E. Kirkwood Ave. and the Ellettsville branch is at 600 W. Temperance St. All events are free. Funding for the event is provided by the Friends of the Library Foundation.
Fall holidays closing

Home art lab
Calling all homeschoolers! Explore different artistic mediums and express your creativity each month through unique projects. In this session, you are going to make a DIY seamless pop pie cushion! Preschool Story Time

Minecraft 3D printing
Join the Minecraft library server to build something cool! The library will take your build, turn it into a 3D model, and then print it on its 3D printer for you to keep! If you don’t have your own account, you can borrow one from the library. For 7-12 year olds. It meets virtually from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Thursday on the library’s Minecraft server. Ping-pong palooza
Learn to play table tennis, have fun and improve your skills in a safe and friendly environment! It is 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Friday in meeting room 1B of the downtown library. Pass. For all ages.
Shaking Your Family Tree Genealogy Conference
Join the Monroe County History Center and Library as four experts guide you through challenges of house history, church records, beginner’s DNA results, and more. For ages 18 and over. Cheap gift workshop
Learn how to make inexpensive crafts that people will actually use and love! You will leave each class with a finished sample, an instruction sheet, and a list of supplies to recreate these great gifts at home. For ages 18 and over. QueerTalk Book Club, virtual edition
Join library staff as they create a safe space to discuss books written by and for LGBTQ + people. Friends bookstore sale
All films and music from the Friends of the Library bookstore are half price in November. The sale includes DVDs, CDs, vinyl records, cassettes and Blu-Rays. The bookstore also offers unique gifts for library supporters, including masks, t-shirts, note cards, tote bags and more. The bookstore is open Tuesday and Thursday from 11 am to 7 pm; Friday and Saturday 11 am-5pm; and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Visit mcpl.info/bookstore for more information.
Challenge of creating a comic book
Create an original one-page comic book to share with the community and enter to win one of 20 Vintage Phoenix Comic Books gift cards. Categories are available for ages 7-11 and teens 12-19.
