After a nearly three-year hiatus, the long-awaited return of a popular concert series has come to fruition.
One of Scotland’s leading male choirs, Westerton MVC, are delighted to stage their popular Christmas concerts “The Spirit of Christmas!” one more time.
Three performances will take place: Friday 16th December and two on Saturday 17th December, all at New Kilpatrick Church, Bearsden, under the direction of the returning Music Director and recently awarded one of the BBC’s ‘Scotland’s People’, Brian Marshall.
An enthusiastic Bryan said: “I am delighted that we are back in concert three years after our last Christmas shows with a chance to welcome and wow our audiences once again.
“The boys are hard at work with our superb companion Penny Watson and hope to put the spirit back into everyone’s Christmas.”
Singing opportunities for men seem to be getting more popular, as evidenced by the choir welcoming an unprecedented 12 new members since September alone, bringing the current rehearsal count to around 60.
Bryan notes that “we have a job and a half to weave our new faces into the singing repertoire, but I’m confident we’ll be ready to wow our audiences with a memorable return from the choir to our regular concert routine.”
This year the Choir’s new charity is Drake Music Scotland (DMS), Scotland’s leading disability music organization whose aim is to transform people’s lives through the power of music.
Bryan said that surprisingly this is the first music-related charity that WMVC has supported and he is excited about the prospects of supporting them not only financially but also through mutual sharing opportunities. music directly involving those Drake supports.
