Dimapur, April 25 (MExN): In commemoration of World Malaria Day 2022, the Dimapur unit of the National Vector Borne Diseases Control Program (NVBDCP) organized various malaria awareness and prevention activities in the month of April 2022 across the district under the theme ‘Harnessing innovation to reduce the burden of malaria and save lives.’
From April 18 to 25, a total of 56 villages in Dimapur district were covered where malaria awareness and prevention activities were carried out by the NVBDCP Dimapur team led by Nokchingsomba Chang, Senior Malaria Inspector, with Peter Sangtam, consultant, MTS, SI and SWs, specifies a press release from the CMO Dimapur office.
World Malaria Day 2022 emphasized the role of communities in eliminating malaria in addition to spreading awareness about malaria and its preventive measures. Communities, i.e., stakeholders, church leaders, women leaders, student leaders, ASHAs, etc. were oriented on NVBDCP program activities and their roles in eliminating malaria in the district, he said.
