Care teams across Essex have made the Easter season even more special with a selection of fun and exciting Easter themed events.
The Bluebird Care team hosted their annual tea party for clients, staff and their families on Wednesday April 6th at the Peters Church Community Hall to celebrate all their hard work over the past 12 months.
Guests were treated to sandwiches, cakes, tea and coffee, before being treated to a live musical performance by Laura Louis, a former member of the Bluebird Care team, and her band The Blarneys Cover Band.
Guests then got stuck into a fun afternoon of games, including the ‘guess the baby’ picture game and bingo.
The children had the opportunity to participate in an Easter egg hunt and a spoon race in the church gardens.
The day ended with a speech by the registered manager of Bluebird Care Southend and Rochford, Kellie Woodcraft, and a free raffle which ensured that no client left empty-handed.
Lillian B, customer of Bluebird Care Southend and Rochford, said: “I absolutely loved listening to live music, it’s been a while since I’ve had this much fun. Thank you all.”
Kellie Woodcraft said: “The tea party was a wonderful opportunity to bring team members, customers and family together after such a difficult year.
“The kids loved the Easter games and it was nice having Laura join us and sing some favorite songs with her band.
“This wouldn’t have been possible without the great team we have at Bluebird Care Southend and Rochford.”

The Easter getaways didn’t stop there either, as neighboring teams Bluebird Care Mid Essex and Bluebird Care Essex West held their own Easter egg hunts on April 3 at Hylands Park in Chelmsford and King George’s Park, Brentwood on April 5.
Upon arrival at the Easter Egg Hunts, guests were given a card with a selection of Bluebird images and Easter-themed words to hunt high and low through the park. For those lucky enough to find the hidden pictures, a bounty of chocolate eggs awaited them.
Both hunts were certainly hectic and competitive, but were thoroughly enjoyed by all and provided a wonderful opportunity for everyone to spend time with each other.
Chelsea Flowers, Care Assistant at Bluebird Care Mid Essex, said: “What a lovely afternoon. My children loved getting out into the fresh air for this ‘egg-citing’ event – we’re all looking forward to the event of the next year.”
Claire Povey, Care Assistant at Bluebird Care Essex West, said: “I joined Bluebird Care Essex West just before Christmas and really enjoy my job.
“It’s so amazing to have my family invited to these free events. Thank you for a great afternoon, my kids loved it.”
