
Chloe Bailey will have a new reason to sing “Lord have mercy”, new reports reveal.
The 23-year-old, preparing for the release of her highly anticipated debut solo album, is turning her attention to church solos as the lead star of the upcoming comedy, ‘Praise this.’

Comedy feature film of a music competition set in the world of youth choirs, “Praise” – written by Tina Gordon and produced by Packer — is heading to theaters courtesy of Universal Pictures.

“The film falls under Will Packer Productions’ first-look deal with Universal, which has produced such hits as Night School, Girls Trip, the Ride Along films and Little. WPP Founder and CEO Will Packer (The Photograph, Little ) will produce alongside The Story Company co-founder and CEO Tim Story, with WPP EVP executive producing Johanna Byer. Executive Vice President of Production Erik Baiers and Director of Production Development Tony Ducret will oversee the project on behalf of Universal.
While few details about the film were revealed at the time of its announcement (release date, full cast, etc.), what did come out were reports that Universal may be considering the film’s franchise potential ( to the ‘Perfect’).
Until we get more information on the upcoming adventure, we’ll keep our eyes peeled for Miss Bailey’s next foray into cinema: Miramax’s supernatural thriller. “The Georgetown Project” (with Russell Crowe and Ryan Simkins).
